Seven new Nurses requiring Visa sponsorship have started working at Wimmera Health Care Group. The nurses are pictured receiving introductory training from WHCG Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator Bruce Rentsch.

All seven are Registered Nurses who originally trained in their country of origin and then completed a conversion course after moving to Australia.

Most of the nurses have already worked at other Australian health services or aged care facilities.

Clinical Services Allocation Officer Dianne Schmidt said WHCG would look at another intake of nurses needing Visa sponsorship in October, to help with an ongoing shortage of nursing workforce.

WHCG Director of Clinical Services Maree Woodhouse welcomed the new nurses.

“We warmly welcome them to our nursing team and look forward to their contribution in supporting us to provide safe quality care to our community,” Ms Woodhouse said.
