The popular dance craze empowering women, No Lights No Lycra is coming to Horsham.

In collaboration with the ‘This Girl Can’ Vic Health Campaign, Wimmera Health Care Group and the YMCA Horsham Aquatic Centre have partnered to bring the dance craze to Horsham.

No Lights No Lycra (NLNL) is a global dance community that started in Melbourne, in 2009, by unruly dance students. There is no light, no lycra, no teacher, no steps to learn, no technique, just free movement.

Wimmera Health Care Group community health nurse Nicole Miller said it’s a fully inclusive and non-judgmental space.

"It’s set up as a space where you can completely let go, shake out the stresses of the week, and lose yourself in the music," Mrs Miller said.

"Just like dancing in your own lounge room at home."

NLNL runs dance nights throughout Australia and the world and is described as a daggy, non-pretentious place to completely be yourself.

"It doesn’t matter if you are a new to dancing and exercise or a gym regular," Mrs Miller said.

"All that matters is that you’re giving it a go.

"Come and try something new. Bring a friend, work colleague, a neighbour, your daughter, sister, or your mum."

NLNL is running on Thursday evenings, starting June 21, 7.10pm, at the YMCA Horsham Aquatic Centre. Entry is free and no booking is required.
