Local football club, Horsham Saints is throwing its support behind the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s Glamour Ball and Charity Auction on November 23.
Players and committee members will attend the ball to help raise money for the Wimmera Base Hospital Emergency Department, a part of the hospital several players have seen the inside of this year.
Horsham Saints President Roger Sordello said when football players suffered injuries on the field they used the services at the Wimmera Base Hospital. Mr Sordello said that is why his club is supporting the ball and he hoped other clubs would do the same.
“Some of our players have experienced the great work done in the Emergency Department first-hand so I think it is important that as a club we support the ball and help raise some funds,” Mr Sordello said.
“It would be great to see other football clubs at the ball. Not only is it a great night with a great band, but there is also some fantastic sporting memorabilia on auction, with all funds raised going to the Emergency Department.
“All of us, whether we play sport or not, will no doubt use the services of the Emergency Department at some point in our lives.”
The Blue Ribbon Foundation Glamour Ball and Charity Auction is on Saturday, November 23 at the Horsham College Hall. Tickets are $50 each and available from the Horsham Sports and Community Club, Horsham Police Station and University or Ballarat Horsham Campus.
