Wimmera Health Care Group has appointed a new executive director position.

Denise Hooper has been appointed the director of primary care and will manage a large range of areas including Wimmera Community Options, district nursing, day centre, community nursing, hospice care, allied health, dental, Hospital Admissions Risk Program, Community Rehabilitation Centre, continence and more.

 

Ms Hooper was previously employed as primary care manager at Wimmera Health Care for almost three years.

Ms Hooper said she is excited to take on the newly created director role and is especially passionate about supporting people to stay in their home environment.

“I am very excited to commence this new position as I am passionate about community health services,” Ms Hooper said.

“And I am fortunate to be working with such a great team of caring professionals who are committed to their clients.”

Chief executive Chris Scott said it was a pleasure to have someone as experienced as Ms Hooper take on the role.

“Denise has gained extensive knowledge of our health care group in her role as primary care manager which will be invaluable in the newly created director of primary care position,” Mr Scott said.

Ms Hooper has worked in the health industry for 30 years and developed a passion for community health while working in Northern Territory communities in the 90s.
