Wimmera Health Care Group is hoping to ease the burden on people trying to get a doctor’s appointment with two new General Practitioners starting in the January.
The health care group recently took over the Read Street Medical Clinic which is based out of their Wimmera Medical Centre.
Centre manager Heather Parker said since taking over the clinic, they have put on a locum doctor, Dr Rais Siddiqi, to help make more appointments available. Dr Siddiqi will be available until January 13.
"We then have two new doctors coming, a male and a female, starting on January 15," Ms Parker said.
"Dr Iain Loan and Dr Helen Loan will be working from the Read Street Medical Clinic for 12 months and we hope this will assist in reducing the delays people have been experiencing when trying to get in to see a doctor."
