Wimmera Health Care Group is very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Peter Greenberg to the Board of Management.
WHCG Board of Management Chair Marie Aitken said Dr Greenberg brings a wealth of medical experience to Board as he is currently a physician at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and has years of experience teaching as well as consulting.
"We are thrilled to have Dr Greenberg on our Board. He is passionate about healthcare and has a strong connection to the region," Ms Aitken said.
"It is vital for a Board of Management to have members with a range of skillsets, so this appointment is wonderful for the future of the organisation and its governance."
Dr Greenberg spent a decade living in the region in both Nhill and Horsham during his childhood. He has memories of travelling the region supporting local football teams, summers spent at Green and Natimuk Lakes and picnics at Mt Arapiles.
It is those fond memories which prompted him to to join the Board of Management.
"I have vivid and wonderful memories of those times. I wanted to join the WHCG Board of Management as I considered the experience and knowledge I'd gained working and teaching as a consultant physician in general medicine would be beneficial to the organisation," Dr Greenberg said.
"Assisting to evaluate and further improve the quality of health care might add something worthwhile to health care in the Wimmera, as well as an opportunity for me to contribute something in return to the region, where I'd had such a happy childhood."
