Wimmera Health Care Group has received a $25,000 grant for the Wimmera Cancer Centre.

Wimmera Health Care Group was successful in their Dry July grant application, securing $25,000 to go towards an entertainment system fitout for the new cancer centre.

Acting CEO Mark Knights said the money will be a great help towards making the cancer centre state of the art and contributing to the wellness centre.

"The funds from the Dry July Grant will go towards iPads, individual televisions and a PA/music system," Mr Knights said.

"We are thrilled to be able to add this money to the pool already raised by our generous community and government funding."

Dry July’s aim is to raise funds to improve the wellbeing of people affected by cancer and to ease the burden of cancer for every Australian.

"Thanks to this grant we can install an entertainment system with the latest technology," he said.

"Being treated in a comfortable, modern environment with high tech equipment will go a long way in making a positive impact on our patients’ experience.

"We’re extremely grateful to Dry July and applaud the positive work they are doing to help people affected by cancer."
